Photo Requirements

URNotAlone has strict but reasonable photo requirements compared to other sites on the Internet. For a Silver Level Profile you must meet these requirements. Bronze Level Profiles have a much more limited set of features that they can use on URNA. We don't expect that everyone will feel comfortable posting a photo that meets our requirements, but it is the only way to get a "Fully Approved, Silver Level Profile" here. You will be listed as a Bronze Level Member if you don't meet them, but a Fully Approved Silver Level profile unlocks additional features on the site.

What are the Requirements for Silver Level Membership?

Main Primary Profile Pictures have the following requirements:

- They must go to your Chest (no tightly cropped head shots). Also, all primary photos will not show below the waist. If you submit a photo that shows your lower body it will be cropped below the waist

- They must show your face Clearly. If you can't see both eyes it will likely be approved as a secondary photo. No Masks, Hoods, Blurring, (sunglasses are ok), etc.

- They may NOT be Adult. No exposed Nipples or Genitalia, etc. and please, no Sex Toys. Overly suggestive poses, e.g., open crotch shots, naked behinds, lacy panties where genitals are visible, male torsos more than a few inches below the belly button, are not permitted.

- They may NOT contain more than 1 person unless you Register as a Couple.

- They may NOT be Collages or multiple images combined into one Photo.

- If you put Frames around a picture we will crop them out.

- They may contain a Logo or URL, however it should be close to the picture, not way above or way below or way off to the side of your picture or it will be removed if we Crop your Photo.

- The picture must be of You.

- In addition to the above requirements, a picture may "technically" meet our requirements, but, if it's taken from an angle, for example, shot from directly above your head when you're standing we will reject it as a Main Profile Picture.

Secondary Profile Pictures have the following requirements:

- They may NOT be Adult. No exposed Nipples or Genitalia, etc. and please, no Sex Toys. Overly suggestive poses, e.g., open crotch shots, naked behinds, lacy panties where genitals are visible, male torsos more than a few inches below the belly button, etc., are not permitted.

- If you put Frames around a picture we will crop them out.

- They may contain a Logo or URL, however it should be close to the picture, not way above or way below or way off to the side of your picture or it will be removed if we Crop your Photo.

Gallery Pictures have the following requirements:

- They may NOT be Adult. No exposed Nipples or Genitalia, etc. and please, no Sex Toys.

I uploaded a picture but it's not showing up as "Pending"

If the photo you tried to upload is too large it may "time out" on upload. We place no limits on the size of photos, but, depending on the speed of your internet connection, the traffic between you and our Server's located in Phoenix and a slew of other things, it could just "time out" and not make it to the "Pending" status.

If this happens, try sizing your photo so that it's around 800x600 or 600x800 pixels in size or so that it's under 2MB in file size and upload it again. This almost always solves the problem.

Photos that you upload must be standard .jpg format.

In General:

- If you're going to post a picture in Skimpy Lingerie, that's fine, so long as nothing is "hanging out" or "peeking out" from the Lingerie... this is a common cause for a Photo being Rejected. If anything shows that shouldn't show, we will Reject it.

- Also, "Visible Arousal", even through Lingerie or any Clothing, in a Photo will be Rejected. You should be able to understand what we mean by "Visible Arousal".

Why Do You Have Strict Requirements?

There are a number of reasons actually. Part of it is to provide consistency to our members.

1. Consistent look for all member pages. Most sites don't require photos at all. A majority of the photos that ARE uploaded give you no idea of what someone actually looks like.

2. One of URNotAlone's Main purposes is for Transgendered people to find others like themselves, and to give each other strength and the courage to be themselves.

3. There is no age requirement for viewing Profiles at URNA. This is why we are Very Strict on Prohibiting Adult Photos, not too mention the Legal Issues.

Who Approves/Rejects Photos?

URNotAlone currently has two people who regularly approve and reject pending photos. We try to keep approvals as consistent as possible, and we have formulated internal rules that we apply. These rules are the result of 10 years of providing the same service to the same community.

It usually takes us less the two hours to approve or reject pending photos. If your photo is approved, you will immediately get an email letting you know that your photo is online (you may need to flush your cache and reload the page). If your photo is rejected, you will also receive an email explain WHY it was rejected, and these reasons will appear right on your photo upload page.

We reserve the right to edit your Main Profile Pic. If you upload a picture that needs to be cropped and it's high enough resolution for us to crop it and still see you clearly, we will do so... if time permits...

If you don't know how to crop and size your pic, you can always send it to us at admin@urnotalone.com. If you do this, be sure to send us the full sized original pic. If it doesn't meet our requirements... don't bother... we won't be able to magically make it full length or make your face appear if your face isn't in the picture you send.

But I'm Special, and Your Rules Don't Apply To Me!

Look, this is simple. We have profiles on the site that meet the requirements. We have applied the same rules to the 13,000 Plus Silver Level Members in our database.

That's 13,000 Plus people who managed to meet our requirements. We could make exceptions, but if we did, it would hardly be fair to everyone else, now would it?

What are these different Levels of Membership you keep referring to?

To see a list of what Membership Level gets you what Features, have a look at our Compare Membership Matrix.

Some Samples

We've taken the time to not only set consistent standards that are applied to all of our members seeking Silver Level Status, but we have even provided these samples for you to see. If your photo deviates excessively from any of these samples, odds are pretty good it will be rejected. An even better option is to simply look at the thousands of profiles we currently have online. You won't see Silver Level Profiles unless their Main Profile Pic meets our requirements.
