October was the last month for Ratings on URNA.
Ratings were introduced as an answer to a poll we did, back in the Summer of 2004, when they were the most requested feature that people wanted us to implement. Well, it’s over 3 years since that poll and the Ratings have become a joke. We find them offensive, as do many of you, and admittedly, we probably made a mistake implementing them in the first place.
Here’s our list of the things that made us decide it’s time to do away with them permanently:
1. Over 1/2 of the 500,000 + comments in our Database are absolutely meaningless comments that say nothing more than “I gave you a 10”.
2. Too many people down vote others, just to move themselves up in the Ratings.
3. We think the Ratings are demeaning, they make people look like pieces of meat.
4. We’re exiting the Adult end of the business by shutting down ModelTS at the end of the year because we don’t want people to look at the Girls on the site as pieces of meat. This goes hand in hand with number 3, above.
5. We are sick and tired of tracking down Cheaters (and there are plenty of them). We have better things to do with our time, like implementing useful features.
If you enjoyed the Ratings, sorry, but, we’ve made up our minds. More people leave URNA because of Ratings and more people complain about Ratings than any other single feature on URNA.
