All’s not fair in war against transgender bias

Transsexuals have better rights protection on the mainland than here, but a meeting between activist groups and the government may be the first step in fighting discrimination and intolerance in the territory, according to academics and research groups.

At least 10 activist groups representing sexual minorities will meet representatives from the Home Affairs Bureau today to discuss the rights of transsexuals, same-sex couples, and others who face discrimination because of their sexual orientation.
