URNotAlone: Changes to Mail and Chat

We’ve recently made changes to the requirements for sending Mail to Members and to enter URNA Chat. For years, we’ve had people who would create profiles and leave them pretty much blank, just to be a nuisance and harass people in Chat or to send SPAM to our Members. Lots of our Members have asked us to make these changes for years, especially pertaining to URNA Chat. Jon and Dan talked and finally said “enough is enough”.

From now on, you need to be a Silver Member (Completed Profile with a Non-Adult, Clear Photo that shows your face and goes to your waist) or have Purchased Subscription to send Mail to URNA Profile Holders or to use URNA Chat.

We did a lot of soul searching before making this decision. In the end, it ended up being about rewarding people for being Active and Completing their Profile or for helping to support the site Financially.

We have always responded to what our Members want. We even left the Adult Entertainment Industry at the request of the overwhelming majority of our Members. Over the last four months, the number one Request was to limit who could send Mail and use URNA Chat.

We know this is a pretty major change, but we think you will find that the quality of the site goes up. Chat is already a much more pleasant place without the trouble makers coming in. 🙂

We just thought you needed a heads up. This was also sent out as a Mailing to our Members on April 23rd.

If you are a Silver Member (Free) or have Purchased a Subscription, this won’t change your experience at all. If you are angry and want to leave, we’re sorry, but this was done for the good of URNA and for the good of our Members. We’re not forcing you to Show yourself, but if you choose not to, you’ll have to ante up and Purchase a Subscription. You can complain all you want, but those are the choices for sending Mail and using Chat, either complete your Profile or purchase a Subscription.

I’d also like to point out, that we are constantly upgrading various Software Components of the Site. Some of these upgrades may require that you update the version of the Browser you’re using for compatibility.

At this point in time, April 23rd, 2008, we test with the following combinations of Operating Systems and Browsers:

Windows XP: Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3.1
Windows Vista: Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3.1
Apple OS X: Firefox 2, Safari 3.1

We know the above combination of Operating Systems and Browsers work because we test every update or new feature with these combinations.

We should also note, that we find that people have the least amount of problems and the highest level of compatibilty when they use Firefox.

If you’re using one of these Operating System / Browser Combinations and it’s not working, it’s something in your settings. Other browsers will more than likely work for you if they are Standards Compliant, however, we only test on the Operating Systems / Browser Combinations that we’ve mentioned.

Older versions of Browsers may be problematic as we upgrade our Software Components regularly on the Server.
