Equality California’s Political Action Committee (EQCA PAC), a sponsored committee of EQCA, California’s statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, announced its endorsement of four pro-equality candidates for the Assembly.

Julia Brownley, running in the 41st Assembly District, Abbe Land in the 42nd Assembly District, Anthony Portantino in the 44th Assembly District and Warren Furutani in the 55th Assembly District round out a list of 54 endorsed candidates, including Steve Westly for Governor.

“These candidates are rock solid in their support for LGBT equality and will be leaders for the community in Sacramento,” said Seth Kilbourn, EQCA political director. “Electing these and our other endorsed candidates is a top priority for the Equality California PAC because the outcome of the June 6 primary could determine if we can pass a marriage bill and other critical legislation in 2007. We need the LGBT community and our allies to get involved in these campaigns and turn out to vote in record numbers in order to win.”
