Toronto Teachers Asked to Identify Sexual Orientation in Survey

AM640 Toronto Radio

Toronto – A controversial survey is making the rounds among teachers at the Toronto District School Board. It’s asking its 30-thousand employees to identify their sexual orientation, as well as their ethnicity.

The survey is voluntary, and is designed to make sure the board’s hiring and promotion practices are fair. Employees will be asked to identify themselves as bisexual, gay, heterosexual, lesbian, transgendered or transexual.

The results will be compiled this summer, and presented to the board likely in the fall.
