URNA is a pretty large site with lots of activity. It runs spread across 3 Machines…
Machine 1: Web/Chat Server and Assorted Processes
Machine 2: Dedicated as a Database Server
Machine 3: This is a Statistics Server for crunching our Stats.
All 3 of these Machines have been replaced with New Machines that have Faster CPU’s, More Memory and Faster Disks. The migration and cut-over to the New Machines completed at approximately 1pm Eastern Time (US) Saturday, March 5th. There may be some minor issues (such as our TopSites not currently working) but Dan is working on finding them and fixing them. All basic functionality of the site has been tested and is working fine and faster than every before.
We’re seeing much improved performance and hope you’re all experiencing a quicker site too!
