The past few years has seen more on-screen trans visibility than ever before — from Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl to Jeffrey Tambor in Transparent.

However, there’s still a long way to go when it comes to fully representing trans experiences. Enter a new web series called Her Story. It’s being hailed by Buzzfeed as “The Groundbreaking Trans And Queer Web Series You’ve Been Waiting For.”

The show looks at the developing attraction between a trans woman and a cisgender lesbian … from their perspectives.

Her Story’s co-creator and writer Jen Richards talks to guest host Gill Deacon about what happens when LGBT people tell their own stories in television and entertainment media.
