Trans, Dyke marches draw small exuberant crowds

It was a small but energetic crowd that showed up for Atlanta Pride's first Trans March on Oct. 31. Transgender men and women, a few children and allies marched through Piedmont Park to give visibility to gender identity issues.

"I've been with Pride for 10 years and this is my first Pride as an out trans man," J. Sheffield said before the march began, drawing applause from participants. Sheffield is also the events manager for Atlanta Pride.
