The gay community have their Pride and we are lucky enough to be included in their celebrations - but now it is our turn to celebrate Transgender in all its wonderful forms.

The UK's first National Transgender Celebration takes place in Canal Street, Manchester on Saturday 25th June 2005 - All day and all FREE!

Lipstick-adorned drag queens in slinky dresses, revellers decked out in rainbowed beaded necklaces and children in strollers were all participants in Sunday's Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Pride Parade.

Under sunny skies and a blanket of humidity, more than 4,000 people met Sunday afternoon in Kleinhan's Music Hall and marched along Elmwood Avenue to Bidwell Park.
